stolen heart

There are fifty days until this little cute thing turns two.  I can't get over it.  She grows up a little more each day.  Sometimes, I wonder if I'll ever stop replaying my pregnancy with her.  She's quite obviously no longer a baby, but she'll be my baby for the rest of my life.

She loves playing with stuffed animals and babies.  I never know what's happening in her little mind, but she loves to say, "Aww.  You're okay.  Awww.  Kiss?  Kiss?"  She's the loviest little thing, which did not come from me, but I can't imagine her being any other way.  She always asks if people are okay, she says "sorry," and she just loves to be snuggled.  Her latest thing is "I love you too."  We hear that about a thousand times a day because we tell her we love her or kiss her and she gives that appropriate response.

Then there are days where I wonder what group of teenagers she has been hanging around.  Her latest thing where she shouts "No!" is really becoming, and I hope my ears are deceiving when I hear her follow it up with "MEAN!"  I have no clue where she would have learned that, so I like to pretend she's talking about something else.

I can't believe we have only known her for a little less than two years.  She has been in my heart forever.  I can hardly remember what life was like before she was here.  You know, except for having clean floors and a lot of spare time.  We have been so blessed with a beautiful little girl.  I can't wait to see her with her little brother or sister-I know she will be so amazing as a big sister.

Favorite Ruby phrases at the moment:

"SHOO!" aimed at any and every bug she ever sees.

"I love you too"  which sounds more like "I too you too."

"Bless you!"  She loves to pretend sneeze.

"Ernie and Burt" which is occasionally also known as "Ernie and Burp" - she has a book about them that she just adores.

"Come oooon."  These are her words of action when she needs to get someone going...or when she needs someone to hold her."

Her pleads for a kiss which come at the most inopportune times, but I always give in (shower, when she should be sleeping..) "Kisssss, Kissssssss!"

"I did it!"

And I love when she lists food choices when I ask her what she wants to eat.  Generally, it goes a  little like this: "Water, cheese, crackers, cereal (new obsession), apples, bananas..."
