Let's Paaarty!!

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

I had a blast at last year's party hosted by 5 Minutes for Mom - there is a possibility that I squealed when I found out the information for this year's party.  I met so many great moms and others like me last year and I'm thankful for the opportunity to find people that are so much like me!

For new readers and party hoppers:

I'm Hillary. I am wife and a mom, and my life revolves around my family.

I married my high school sweetheart on the same day that the rest of the world chose: July 7, 2007.  He is an amazing man, and someone that I am proud to call our supporter, my husband, and my daughter's daddy.  He's the yin to my yang, the Ricky to my Lucille Ball, and my partner in crime.

I have a beautiful 17 month old (well, tomorrow she will be!) baby girl-Ruby.  Her personality has stayed so true to her name; she is our precious gem.

I'm what you would call an attachment parent, and to some that only means that my baby is glued to me at all times.  Including my bed at night.  This is true (among other things) .  This is also something I never ever ever thought would appeal to me, but as all mom know, any plans you had for parenthood generally fly right out the window when you actually become a parent.

I am not Super Mom though I like to pretend that I am.  I don't keep a spotless house, putting away clean laundry is my nemesis, sweats are my favorite attire, and my child has been caught playing in or on top of the toilet twice now.

But one thing is for sure: the blessings and love in our house are in over-abundance and we are so happy.
When I'm not chasing Ruby away from dog food, the toilet paper roll or tearing her wipes from their container and littering her room, I enjoy so many other things.

In fact, I enjoy so many things that sometimes I feel overwhelmed with all of the hobbies and things that I love.

Most recently I have started working on my honorary 80 year old status.  By this, I mean knitting. and being stuck in my ways .  I have an etsy shop that showcases fun baby and toddler knit hats as well as a few hairbows.  That can be found here.

If you'd like to support my hard-working husband and support my compulsive yarn-buying habit, he'd be forever grateful. ;)

Other things I enjoy include scrapbooking, making cards, baking, taking walks, sand between my toes, bubble baths, a great book, puppies, baby snuggles, celebrity gossip (minus Tiger Woods' latest fling-I'm over that), blogging, Starbucks, reality television, shopping, ETSY, and vacationing.

The way to my heart is definitely junk food, coffee, a cute baby, or some fun yarn. Easy to please, really.

Thanks for stopping by my party-I can't wait to meet some more fun people!

Happy Partying!

Wow! You are so creative. I can't knit. My grandma tried teaching me but I'm ambidextrous and for some reason, I favor my left hand with the knitting needles. After 10 minutes, she told me I was annoying her and unteachable. *Sigh* I miss Grandma.

:o)

Thanks for stopping by! I LOVE your blog!! Following.

popping in with the party... im an attachment parent as well. i am constantly being told i hold my son too much, but i love him and he loves me, so whats the harm? im building his confidence and making him comfortable with his new world. im also a babywearer and we co-slept for the first 2 months until my back just couldnt handle the the barricade i turned myself into to protect him from my hard as a rock sleeper husband. now he sleeps in his bassinet right next to my side of the bed and im pretty sure all three of us are sleeping better than before. if we had a king size bed, though, we would certainly still be co-sleeping!

your daughter is just adorable and i will definitely be checking out your etsy shop! hawke is going to need some warm hats come october and the endless snow that gets dumped on us here in colorado.

if you feel so inclined, id love you to pop in at my blog:

I'm stopping by from UBP as well. Can I tell you I'm so jealous...I wish I could knit, crochet, sew, or SOMETHING! I've been dying to get my hands on a little beanie for my 3 year old, and it would be so much easier if I could just whip it up myself! Count yourself lucky to have those skills. :o)
