Locked Out

Yes, I did indeed make it home from NYC alive.  No muggings, I did not die on the plane, we made it.  Thanks for asking.  It always takes me so long to get back into my normal routine, but it seems to be taking longer this time.

I wish this were a real plate of food we're working with here, because let me tell ya, the plate is beyond full (and um, I like food).  I do want to recap the trip because it was amazing, there are so many details that I never ever want to forget, and the pictures are so fun to look at.

Maybe I could have gotten a jump start on it in the last thirty minutes, but instead I was busy acting as the neighborhood nutjob, playing peek-a-boo through our front door. Me outside, Ruby inside.  Yes, I really did lock the 19 month old (the 24 month mark is creeping in way too fast) in the house all by herself.  Thankfully she doesn't seem to be the adventurous type and I was able to keep her there until my dad drove all the way here with our spare key.  I wondered if she would be scared about this weird situation, but the only thing she seemed upset about was that I couldn't get her a piece of cheese.  Whose child is this again?!

But those 30 minutes seemed like about 80 and my heart felt like it was beating in my throat.

So, between loads of laundry, packing for our next trip, and typing a paper for an online class (ick), I'll try my best to get NYC captured in something less than a marathon novel.

Until then...
