Ruby Things

Ruby loves to talk on the phone.  And she'll pretend anything around her is a phone.  I have seen chapstick, remotes, snack crackers and sippy cups transform to phones before my very eyes.  She's an imaginitive one.  There's one catch-she doesn't talk on the phone if anyone is on the other line.  Stage fright?

This video was from the 30th when we had Christmas at my in-laws-you can hear everyone's color commentary.  I find it so hysterical that she multi-tasks and puts all of this inflection and emotion into this phone conversation.  It's times like these that I wish I could peek inside of her thoughts and learn a little more.

My domain is active and best of all live.  That means you can get here by typing in http://www.thesassyone.com/.  This was one of those times where I found myself caught in a net of frustration because of all of these unforeseen challenges.  I felt like throwing my computer right out my front door, nixing the dream of my .com home, and going on with life.

But I have a problem with letting things get the better of me (and there may or may not be a tendency to overreact when things don't go my way) and I decided I was going to figure out the foreign language of the internets if it killed me.

Ruby and I are going to get out of the house and go shopping today.  It'll be a nice escape from being indoors so much for the last week-we need some things too, so it's a perfect excuse.  It should be a nice change from the crowds we are used to fighting on weekends and during the holidays.

And in the biggest news in the last month, Ruby slept in her bed for (prepare yourselves...) for two and a half hours.  Did you get all of that?  Ruby.  Own Bed.  Two and a half hours.  It wasn't without a fight, but that's some serious progress.  Now, if I could figure out how to be productive in a quiet way while she naps, I'd be all set and ready to shout about how great the transition has been.

Still having a hard time believing it's the start of a new decade.  2010.  And I'm still undecided if I should call it twenty ten or two thousand ten.  I know it's the decisions like that that should keep me up at night.
