Pancake Friday: on steroids

I realize that the following confession(s?) may either confirm your early suspicions of me or it may take you completely by surprise with the discovery of how much of a total food lover I am and the fact that I even enjoy documenting delectable eats.

Awhile ago, Leanne and I deemed every future a holiday: Pancake Friday. If you know me at all, you might consider this just as good as me being named a saint. Pancakes are something I think about at random times. Pancakes may or may not be the reason that I gained a disgusting amount of weight during pregnancy. And I even have lipgloss that is pancake flavored (which is like love and cruelty all wrapped up in one).

Leanne made banana walnut pancakes with (get this!) her own syrup. That alone should qualify her as a pancake connoisseur. And well, the mere fact that I have consumed the same amount of pancakes that a group of 55 people have, that makes me one too.

Ahem. Where was I? Oh, the syrup. Delicious. I made an executive decision that five gallons of it need to be made and saved for each Friday. I can make decisions like that being that I am a certified PC and all.

After inhaling an unmentionable amount of pancakes (and syrup and butter-Leanne doesn't eat butter..I think I could write an entire entry about how I believe that sort of thing should be illegal, but I'll save you the clogged arteries), we left to run miscellaneous errands with babies in tow.
First stop was a shady Halloween store with the mission of finding some cute costumes that didn't cost an arm and a leg. First, I needed to have my picture with this creepy thing, and upon doing so, Ruby screamed her head off. Bless her heart, she was so terrified of this creepy thing with an oversized head. (We did find costumes for them. Ruby will be a bumblebee and Mason will be a peapod. So, we have the bee and the pea-prime scrapbooking material, people!)

After a few other random stops, we finally made it to Dairy Queen (the real reason we went) to get Thin Mint blizzards and hot dogs. The blizzards were good. The hotdogs were probably sitting in that warmer for a good week (if not more?)

I have never laughed so much or so hard in a single day in my life. Pancakes, blizzards, wrinkled hotdogs, laughing until my stomach ached, and shopping. I'm not sure what could have been better. I think every Friday should be like this.
