Bargain Births.

I have had enough of the 50 mph winds to last me the rest of me life. No more. I had to run to school this morning and get a few things done-the wind is so bad it left Ruby just gasping for air. Go back to Kansas..or wherever you came from; you aren't wanted here!

And just in case anyone was curious, all of those little things that seem like they should be free given out in the hospital are absolutely NOT. I'm thrilled that I felt so great after labor and needed minimal pain meds-in fact the only pain medication I took was for a headache related to my high blood pressure thirty-six hours after giving birth. And three of those puppies (Tylenol-not some miracle drug) cost $25.32. And that cute little tube of Lanolin? $2.23. I didn't even ask for these things. It's no surprise now why they tried to push the pain medication so much (and really, I didn't say no because I was worried about the cost-I just didn't need it). And that fun drug they gave me almost as soon as I was admitted and my blood pressure was taken-Mag Sulfate-that was a lovely $261. I would keep going, but frankly, I do not know what 90% of the items on my itemized bill are, so that wouldn't do me any good. Just to stick an IV in does cost $40. Highway robbery! Perhaps, I'll just use my bedroom as a birthing suite the next time.

Monkey has a cold. I thought we escaped another round of the ick, but today she has been rather congested and has a little cough. I'm hoping she can sleep it off since we have a pretty relaxed weekend ahead of us. At the moment, she doesn't seem too bothered by it-she's still able to keep a pacifier in or eat while breathing through her nose at least.
The purging theme of junk in my house continues this weekend. I hope I can weed through a lot of things-including the things of Roo's that she has already outgrown (which is an ever-growing pile on her bedroom floor at the moment). And of course school things and housecleaning. Exciting, no?
