Not Me Monday

The time of the week when I am most brutally honest about all of my imperfections. Monday seems to be sneaking up on me a little quicker with each passing week.

I most certainly did not get my dose of karma this week when I held my child at arm's length up over my head and she proceeded to regurgitate her milk in nice solid chunks into my hair, down my shirt, onto my pants, and all over the chair. That would be disgusting and definitely a gag-inducing moment.

And I most definitely did not silently curse myself upon the non-vomiting incident for thinking I could straighten my hair this morning and then not have to shower tomorrow morning and re-do it. That would be incredibly optimistic and a little naive.

I did not ponder the things I should reply with as a student in my reading group sounded out a word and somehow came out with the word "sex" numerous times. And she didn't proceed to insist that the word must be "sucks" if it wasn't "sex." She definitely didn't repeat these words five consecutive times after being told to try again.

I also did not download a motivated moms planner in hopes of getting my house organized to a tee (once and for all!) and then tell myself that it would be okay to just do the daily chores all on the weekend. That would be procrastinating and completely out of character.

I did not accidentally refer to my child by my dog's name at any given time last week. That probably would have showcased how tired and delirious I was, and I don't ever get that way. Not me!
